How my bro got the nickname Sneed

My brother was not just my sibling. He was also my best friend and knight in shining armor. I rem when my Mom Sarah told us the story about why she called him Manna. If we go way back to the longhorns, you probably called him that too. As my brother got older I told him that he was to old to be letting street niggas call him Manna. He wasn't they Main Man. He was my mom's main man and we needed a street nick name for him. He looked at me and smiled and said, "Tay you crazy"! Smiling at me with those beautiful teeth. Yall know he didn't smile much but when he did, it made you smile too. Yall can't lie. Anyway, he asked what I had in mind and that he didn't want people calling him Ronald, since he was teased as a kid and called Ronald McDonald, so first I thought Mista Sneed cuz at the time he was doing big things....Yall know my bro. However, not much later we decided that was a bit to much lol, so I told him, how about just Sneed? He looked at me smiled and asked why that. I told him because we are the only Sneeds in the area. All the others were in Bay City and everyone already called me Tay and my Sis Nikki, so he should have something different and that I thought it'd be fly and suit him very well. He smiled again and said aight Sis. Sneed, I could get used to that. I told him don't let anyone outside the family call him Manna anymore, if they said that name to ignore them, then give his correct G name. To introduce his self as Sneed. A few weeks later he came back and said Tay it worked Niggas callin me Sneed. I told him cool and that everyone would know him anytime that name was said, everyone would know who that was. Bro made lots of friends, enemies too, but don't we all. He handled himself very well, as my Pops Ray taught him well as a youngsta how to be able to survive in these streets. He was tough on all of us but esp bro. However, living on the block he needed that. To be able to survive. My mom constantly laced us up too. They used to say that they ain't want us to be played in this world cuz it will eat u alive. They taught us street sense and History. Although, he had his struggles he held his own as Sneed. Good or bad he knew how to look out for himself. "Like a man" and handled this world the best way he knew how. I know some weak niggas prob glad he gone but 1 thing I know is my bro didn't like no cappas, or stunnas, if you tried to play him like that, he did what he had to do. I am proud to say I changed his name for the streets and he was respected and just like we were taught, if he wasn't respected he took it. Straight like that. Bro got older and wiser and when he talked to fam or friends he would say very little that meant alot. He encouraged alot of ppl before he left this earth. Some he was proud of becuz they stayed outta trouble and made families and took care of them others he would encourage them to, "Be Wise". Some he'd tell, "he was trying to get where they at". Including myself. I was proud of my brother these last few months before his death becuz he was working on changing his life. I will forever miss you Manna. There's no one who could replace you, your smile, the gorilla in you or the sweet kind hearted you and there is no doubt big sis gone mourn you till I join you. I love you bro.
